Sub-Lieutenant Andrew Lyall Miller
H.M.S. 'Bambara', Royal Naval Reserve
Son of Comdr. Alexander Alfred Lyall Miller, formerly R.N., and Evelyn Mary Miller, of Windfalls, now 58, Sinah Lane, Hayling Island. Andrew, always known as 'Dusty', served as a midshipman in the Repulse, sunk along with the Prince of Wales.
He survived this by jumping 80 feet from a mast and swimming to a lifeboat. He then transferred to the Fleet Air Arm, training in Ceylon, where he died in a Beaufighter crash. Mrs Mary Vine, Sinah Lane, was his first cousin. Andrew was a great friend of Christopher Snell.
